This Wild Animation show what Earth would look like if all the ocean dried up.
It’s a remake of a 2008 NASA animation that reveals what the world would look like from above, and it reveals potential land bridges that man might have used to get from one continent to another.
The video, made by former NASA planetary scientist James O’Donoghue, gradually reveals a vast landscape of hidden mountains and other features — many of which have yet to be properly explored.
“I like how this animation reveals that the ocean floor is just as variable and interesting in its geology as the continents,” O’Donoghue, who now works for the Japanese space agency JAXA, told Business Insider. The insider also reports that: “As the oceans slowly lose water, the first bits of hidden land that emerge are the continental shelves — the undersea edges of each continent.”
